World Junior Summer Showcase is now OVER!!

We had our final games today with Sweden v Finland and Canada v USA. These were also streamed through beautiful not usahockey site so I was able to catch the Canada game while keeping up with updates on the Sweden v Finland game from helpful Sid scuderiacanucks

Sweden v Finland was a fairly close match ending at 3-1 though im told Finland pretty much had control the whole game. Aatos Kolvu on the Finnish side has ended the showcase with a whopping 7 points (6 goals and 1 assist) so he deserves his flowers. As for Wilson, Swedish lines did get a bit of a mixup from the original lineup post and in the end they did they best and he'll be coming out with 6 points from the whole week.

No Braeden Cootes this game due to being "a little banged up" but I was able to watch this game although muted and having to look away often due to work but it was fun to watch (If you're a Canadian that is). Canada got on the board pretty quickly and continued to do well despite penalties and other crazy things happening on the ice. The sog were a little sad though Joshua Ravensbergen was absolutely goated and kept a 100% save percentage up until around the last 4 minutes of 3rd period. It was 3-0 until US scored 2 in quick succession but it was quickly answered by another 2 eng and 1 regular goal. Final score was 6-2 and though Ravs loses his shutout, he had a spectacular game. This also means Michael Hage has scored in every game he played in.

WJSS is over but the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup is August 11-16 so expect some posts about that from me. Canada's roster for that can be found here

Thanks for listening to me ramble about junior hockey!
