Here's what I got on Kieren Dervin

He's a center; 6'1 2007 baby; from Gloucester, Ontario
Kieren actually played in PHC for most of his 24/25 season. Playing for St. Andrew's College, he got an impressive 33 goals and 79 total points after his 50 games with the team. However, many were concerned on how his performance would fair when playing for so long outside of leagues with fellow prospects. In come the Kingston Frontenacs.
Kieren signed with the Frontenacs in November 2024 and played 10 regular season games and 11 playoff games with the team. He was able to score 1 goal and end the regular season with 3 points and finish the playoffs with another 3 points. These aren't bad numbers when you take into account the fact that he was joining the team so deep into their run with very limited ice time.
In terms of his play, he's a dependable two-way center. He's been noted for his mobility and willingness to play along all of the ice in all 3 zones. He was also noted for his ability to win face-offs at his prep level and win over 60% of his puck battles, as well as effective on a pp. Things that are seen to be developed are his physicality and... passing? Okay they said passing because it was "below average" for a powerful foward sitting at 84% in the OHL. But mostly his physiciality and forechecking is to be worked on, maybe also working under pressure as well. Generally his offensive skills seem to be where many want him to work on the most.
As of right now, Kieren is committed to Penn State University of the NCAA. Though he's actually expected to join them for their 26/27 season with him spending his 25/26 season with another year with the Kingston Frontenacs.
Also! He was one of the prospects that were invited to the NHL Combine. He was #2 in the force plate: vertical jump at 25.10 inches, #5 in the force plate: no arm jump at 21.03 inches, and #6 at the bench press (50% of body weight) at 7.56 power. Basically, he's really good :3
With a forlorn face that fits right at home with the Vancouver Canucks, I am incredibly excited to see him continue to develop.
Also why'd they do this to him.
